Mr. Paul Makkar

Mr. Paul Makkar holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Ryerson University and a Master’s Degree in CanadianAdolescent Education from Medaille College. He is a licensed Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with more than 10 years ofproven experience teaching high school Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and general Science across a variety ofpublic and private schools.

Mr. Makkar is known for his clear, structured instruction style and his dedication to helping students master challenging concepts through step-by-step guidance and practical applications. His teaching consistently produces excellent results: students under his mentorship have demonstrated significant score improvements and a high success rate in credit courses and standardized assessments. Many have strengthened their academic profiles for university applications, including AP and advanced courses.

In addition to classroom teaching, Mr. Makkar has extensive experience providing one-on-one and small-group tutoring, both in person and online, tailoring his lessons to meet diverse learning needs and ensuring each student builds strong problem-solving skills and scientific thinking. With a passion for fostering curiosity and confidence in Math and Science, Mr. Makkar remains a trusted and respected member of the faculty at Maple Ridge Academy, committed to empowering students to excel academically and prepare for future studies in STEM fields.
