Ms. Julie Liu

Ms. Julie Liu is a dedicated Mandarin Teacher at Maple Ridge Academy, with a strong background in Education and Chinese Language Arts. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Beijing Normal University and has completed postgraduate courses in Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature at Tianjin Normal University. She also pursued Early Childhood Education programs at Seneca College and George Brown College in Canada.

Ms. Liu is a certified Level 1 Secondary School Teacher in Tianjin, China, and a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in Ontario, with over 10 years of experience in Canadian early childhood education and more than 20 years of Mandarin teaching experience for students from preschool to high school levels. Her Mandarin classes are known for being engaging and student-centered, combining multimedia resources, storytelling, and interactive activities to strengthen students’ language proficiency and cultural appreciation. She has a proven track record of nurturing students’ writing and reading skills—her students in China have won top prizes in global Chinese essay competitions, and she coauthored Golden Notes (Grade 11 Chinese) published by Beijing Normal University.

Ms. Liu values strong communication with parents and collaborative learning, ensuring that every child enjoys learning Mandarin and builds a solid foundation for future language development.
